im thinking of adding a pickup to my martin ooo 28 ,, my choices i have narrowed down to the K&K double helix and the Fishman rare earth blend,, which would you recommend? mostly home playing or jamming with a few friends,, maybe an open mic

No difference between cap nf values = no tone difference. Significant difference should yield different tone differwnces.

Listened with a decent set of studio monitors and headphone, I can usually detect the slightest change, I noticed no difference.

thanks this was a very helpful test, I like the series too, it think it is important to retain the volume and consistency of the signal as much as possible, with the other trebble bleed circuits I thought they added more than they needed to, for live guitarists they can be ok, but for the recording guitarist I think it is important to keep consistency across the board. cheers

It would have been easier if you had explained which condensers you have put in the stompbox and what the values are.. Now you tell people that these work for the Squier, but people can not do this mod because every guitar is different right...See if I would made this mod for my guitar I would atleast have an on and off toggle switch so that you are not stuck with the new sound and in addition to the values of the condensers you found work well, it might be an option to have atleast one or two more, you can all solder them in parallel to a 3 way switch with like the middle position acting like the normal mode, this way people can have a position one that works best, a normal position which is off, and a position that they think is best to be as close to what they are looking for, like texas specials, or fat 50's or whatever.

Interesting and it sounds like it makes a difference. Would this work on a stacked coil PUp like a Dimarzio area or Duncan?

Could you just use linear pots instead of a treble bleed? To get the same result.

Tried it on both pickups on a Harley Benton TE 70. Made a big difference. Better, sweeter, fuller tone. Decided to keep pickups for now. Great mod.

It's like a different type of varitone switch! I would want this in my Lucille!

It seems to me that when you select either of the mixed positions (N+M or M+B), you will be getting two capacitors in parallel, which may be more capacitance than ideal for those positions. Do you notice a duller sound than desired with those pickup combinations?

I just got all my parts, but I am a bit confused. Your schematic for the bypass switch doesn't seem to match what I see in the video. I just need some clarification. If I'm right, when looking at the bottom of the switch, I had to flip the diagram and then turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise. The diagram must have been a top view with the switch laid horizontal instead of vertical right?

Love it, great sounding pedal! But unfortunately the build instructions lack a lot of detail, so as a beginner this is really tough to follow and figure out how exactly to build this. Also please show the entire signal chain when demoing a pedal, in particular for dirt. Hard to gauge how this would sound with one’s own setup.

If your guitar has two tone knows you could wire one to roll off bass, and the other to roll of treble.
